Bone density is a health concern for many men and women as they age. Osteoporosis is arthritis that weakens the bones, therefore with the fragility of age comes the increased risk of injury from falling or even minor bumps.
Osteoporosis leads to loss of bone mass in men and women. Due to the loss of calcium ad phosphate, Osteoporosis – osteo (meaning bone) and porosis (meaning porous), occurs when the inside of the bone becomes porous. Primarily due to age, it does affect some people in their early 20s.
The loss of the important minerals calcium and phosphate makes the bones more prone to fracture during regular activities.
Causes of Osteoporosis
There are multiple factors that contribute to a person developing Osteoporosis. Below are some of the main contributors:
Many people eat a diet full of too much sugar, carbs, and processed foods. These foods are highly acidic.
Acidity causes the bones to leach out the important minerals from the tissues and bones, weakening the bones.
Eating a diet including cooked wild animal protein is great when it is balanced with alkaline foods; however, when this diet is combined with GMOs, sugar, and processed foods, the acidity is too much for the body to handle. Furthermore, sugar, processed foods, and the wrong “healthy” foods could make matters worse by causing more and more minerals to be “used up” to negate the acidity of these foods.
The most acidic foods leading to osteoporosis include:
- Conventional beef
- Packaged & processed foods
- GMO foods
It isn’t just what you do eat, but it is also what you don’t eat that is important to look at.
Stress causes the acidity in the body to increase; as a result, the calcium then further leaches from the bones to compensate for the lowered pH in the blood. If the pH in the blood becomes even slightly too acidic, the body will die.
The body will do everything it can to keep the pH in the normal range, even sacrificing its bone density.
Furthermore, stress will lead to systemic inflammation throughout the body, aggravating arthritic pain in the joints.
Lack of Strength Training
Strength training is an integral part of preventing osteoporosis. Often those with arthritic pain abstain from exercise and lifting heavy weights due to their pain; this will exacerbate the propensity for osteoporosis as the bones will become weaker without weight bearing exercises.
Too Much Cardio Exercise
Not only is excess exercise a short-term stressor on the body, increasing the acidity in the blood and extracting calcium from the bones, but it also is causing an increase in sweat, leading to the body sweating out more minerals including salt, magnesium and calcium.
The Wrong “Healthy” Foods
Foods that are touted as good bone-building foods like spinach, kale, and other green leafy vegetables could actually be leading to bone loss. Those vegetables contain plant poisons including sulfur, oxalates, or lectins that disrupt detoxification pathways and disrupt gut function, whereby the nutrition absorption is compromised and additionally leads to inflammation and acidity throughout the body.
