What’s Causing Accelerated Aging in Young Adults?

by Sara Banta | Apr 18, 2024 | AHP News, Anti Aging

There have been reports in the news about the rates of cancer in young people rising at accelerated rates, chronic disease is showing up in younger populations, and Alzheimer’s is hitting younger populations and more strongly connected to genetics than previously thought.

All of this news begs the question: are our genetics our destiny or can we do something to prevent these dismal outcomes?

Alzheimer’s Connection to Genetics

According to a new study published in the journal Nature Medicine,

genes that increase the risk of developing Alzheimer’s might be a separate form of the disease. Scientists previously knew there were two forms of Alzheimer’s disease — familial and sporadic. As the name suggests, genetic mutations cause the familial type. Familial types generally develop earlier and are not as common. Previously, medical professionals believed that less than  5% — perhaps 1 in 50 cases — were familial.

Based on the new study, researchers say the inherited form of Alzheimer’s would account for 1 in 6 cases. This change came about because scientists say they better understand the role the APOE gene plays in the development of Alzheimer’s.

There are several forms of APOE a person can have:

APOE2 is considered protective against developing Alzheimer’s

APOE3 is considered neutral

APOE4 increases the risk of developing Alzheimer’s. People with two copies of this gene have an elevated risk.

Initially, APOE4 was considered only a risk factor. Scientists are now saying that it is an inherited form of Alzheimer’s and is regarded as a separate disease.

Researchers from the United States and Spain compared people with two copies of APOE4 to people with other types of the APOE gene.

The scientists looked at data from about 3,300 brains stored in the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center and data from 10,000 people from five clinical trials.

When looking at the brains stored in the Coordinating Center, researchers noted that 273 had two copies of the gene. Out of those, 240 had dementia.

The researchers also found that in people with APOE4 – the inherited form of the disease – the disease appeared about 10 years earlier – with onset on average at approximately 65 years old. According to their findings, the disease was more severe earlier for people with this inherited form of Alzheimer’s than for those with other forms of Alzheimer’s.

The researchers said that having one copy of the gene increases the risk of developing Alzheimer’s. However, with two copies, there was a higher risk of having beta-amyloid and tau build-up in the brain.

Based on these findings, the researchers suggest that people with two copies of APOE4 have a genetic form of Alzheimer’s.

How Can You Prevent Alzheimer’s or Any Accelerated Aging?

Can you prevent the expression of your genetic risk factors?  ABSOLUTELY!

I am one of those people with the two genes of APOE4.  At the age of 48, my brain scan showed a close-to-perfect brain, and that made me confident in how I take care of my health through diet, supplements, exercise, stress management, and sleep, so that I can prevent the progression of any brain health decline.

My brain works far better and faster than it ever did during my college days at Stanford, and my mood, energy, and focus are better than ever before as well! The amount of environmental toxins, food toxins, my age, and my perimenopausal state should make my brain health much worse, but that isn’t the case. There are tools you can use to mitigate any genetic predisposition from expressing itself.

Causes of Poor Brain Health and Accelerated Aging

Let’s dive into some factors that might heighten your risk of developing Alzheimer’s or other brain diseases:

Substance Abuse: Chronic use of drugs and alcohol can severely impact brain health. Substance abuse can lead to neurochemical imbalances, changes in brain structure, cognitive impairment, and a higher risk of mental health issues.

Elevated Chronic Stress: Modern life brings unprecedented levels of chronic stress, whether from financial worries, political instability, global concerns, or other factors. This heightened stress can significantly affect brain health.

Excessive Sugar and Processed Food Consumption: Diets high in processed foods and sugar can raise blood sugar levels, leading to mood swings, ADHD, and cognitive decline. High-carb diets can also cause brain inflammation, potentially contributing to conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Degradation of Our Food Supply: Processed foods, vegetable oils, glyphosate, fluoridated water, and GMOs are harming brain function. GMOs in non-organic food can disrupt the gut, impairing the detoxification of sulfur-containing foods and foods with oxalates. This can lead to a weakened immune system, leaky gut, brain fog, cognitive decline, and decreased physical and mental performance.

Leaky Gut: When the intestinal walls are compromised, foreign particles can enter the bloodstream, triggering systemic inflammation. The gut and brain are closely connected through the “Gut-Brain Axis.” Leaky gut can disrupt the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and GABA, leading to brain issues.

Oxalates: Found in foods like spinach, almonds, nuts, berries, beans, beets, grains, turmeric, and kale, oxalates can accumulate in tissues, organs, and bones. They can affect the brain, causing sleeplessness, neuropathic pain, poor concentration, mental fatigue, mood issues, memory problems, and conditions like dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.

Sulfur: Glyphosate and spike proteins have compromised our detox pathways. As a result, once beneficial foods, medications, and supplements containing sulfur can now back up these pathways, leading to increased histamine reactions, inflammation, anxiety, mood swings, dizziness, and insomnia. This includes foods like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, onions, garlic, and egg yolks.

Amyloid Proteins: Found in conventionally raised meats like chicken, pork, and beef, amyloid proteins can accumulate in the body, disrupting the gut and leading to autoimmune diseases and brain fog. These misfolded proteins can deposit in the brain, potentially causing dementia and Alzheimer’s, while promoting the overgrowth of gut pathogens and accelerating other chronic diseases.

Histamines: These biogenic amines are essential for immune response, stomach acid regulation, and brain neurotransmission. However, exaggerated histamine responses can cause headaches, dizziness, concentration difficulties, anxiety, insomnia, mood swings, digestive issues, skin reactions, fatigue, nasal and respiratory symptoms, and irregular heartbeat. High-histamine foods include alcohol, fermented foods, aged foods, bone broth, dairy, grains, avocado, tomato, and soy.

Spike Protein Impact: The spike protein from the SARS-CoV-2 virus is linked to various health issues, including mental health disorders. It can increase depression, insulin resistance, oxidative stress, water retention, and inflammation, and affect the ACE2 receptor. Indirectly, it can lead to heightened histamine reactions, detoxification issues, increased oxalates, amyloids, cholesterol levels, gastrointestinal issues, and insulin resistance, all of which can worsen mental health and brain health.

Tools to Help Prevent Alzheimer’s and Accelerated Aging

What am I doing for my brain health to make sure that I don’t get Dementia or Alzheimer’s?

I focus on three top supplements and then add in lifestyle changes. It’s not just one magic pill.

Acceleradine® Iodine

Iodine deficiency is a key factor in depression, brain fog, and brain health. Iodine is known to detoxify the brain from toxins like fluoride, helping you connect more deeply with your higher self, think more clearly, and prevent brain deterioration. It also boosts metabolism and supports thyroid health, giving you the physical and mental energy to tackle everyday challenges. Research shows that poor thyroid function is linked to higher rates of depression and mental illness.

Iodine has strong antimicrobial properties, fighting off fungi, parasites, viruses, and bacteria, which helps keep your brain functioning optimally. It also increases ATP levels significantly—by 18 times—boosting cellular energy. This increase enhances metabolism, calorie burn, brain function, physical performance, wound healing, fat burning, and healthy apoptosis (the natural elimination of diseased cells).

Acceleradine® iodine is the only monoatomic iodine that may achieve 100% absorption versus most iodine supplements achieving only 10 to 20% absorption. Enhanced with scalar frequencies unlike any other iodine supplement, Acceleradine® iodine helps detoxify the brain and body from radiation, heavy metals, fluoride, bromide, and chlorine—substances that can harm brain function.

Accelerated Methylene Blue

Methylene Blue is gaining a lot of attention due to its many benefits which include:

  • Antioxidant Properties: Methylene blue acts as an antioxidant, helping to fight oxidative stress, which is linked to aging and chronic diseases.
  • Neuroprotective Effects: Research suggests that methylene blue may protect the brain. It’s being looked at for its potential to treat neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
  • Electron Carrier: Methylene blue serves as an electron carrier and is effective against conditions like malaria and methemoglobinemia. It helps the brain by stimulating oxygen use and reducing anaerobic glycolysis, particularly in toxic situations.
  • Reduction of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS): By acting as an electron carrier, methylene blue can reduce the production of ROS, protecting cells from challenges like glutamate blockage. It also helps maintain mitochondrial membrane potential and guards against neurotoxicity, offering a wide range of benefits.
  • Relevance to Neurodegenerative Conditions: These properties are significant for diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and stroke. Unlike antipsychotic drugs such as phenothiazine, methylene blue functions as a mitochondria-specific antioxidant, offering a unique mechanism of protection.
  • Potential for Brain Damage Prevention: Methylene blue may help prevent and manage brain damage linked to tumors. Treatments for certain solid tumors, like ifosfamide, can cause brain damage, and methylene blue appears to help mitigate this, although the exact mechanism isn’t fully understood.
  • Enhancement of Mitochondrial Function: Methylene blue interacts with mitochondria, the cell’s energy producers. It may boost mitochondrial function and improve energy production, reducing mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative damage while preventing ATP decline. It is both water- and fat-soluble, easily permeating cell membranes to reach mitochondria, nuclei, and lysosomes.
  • Antimicrobial Properties: Methylene blue has shown antimicrobial properties, effective against various bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
  • Cognitive Enhancement: Some evidence suggests that methylene blue can enhance cognitive function and memory.
  • Treatment for Methemoglobinemia: Methylene blue is used to treat methemoglobinemia, a condition where there’s too much methemoglobin in the blood, which hampers oxygen binding.
  • Antidepressant Properties: Research indicates that methylene blue may have antidepressant effects by increasing serotonin levels, making it a potential adjunctive treatment for depression.
  • Increase Nitric Oxide: Methylene blue might increase nitric oxide, a natural vasodilator that relaxes blood vessels and promotes better blood flow.

Accelerated Methylene Blue Supplement is crafted with John Ellis Distilled Water and filtered through the Grander water system, ensuring 100% pure ingredients.

John Ellis Distilled Water

This water is produced using patented distillers that maintain a bond angle above 108 degrees, effectively eliminating toxins by neutralizing pathogens. Its hydrogen bond angle is 10 degrees greater than that of ordinary water, making it unique in its ability to kill pathogens through frothing, concentrated heat, and ultraviolet energy.

Regular water, with its lower energy, steals energy from your food to reach equilibrium. This process affects your immune system, which needs that precious energy to combat disease.

The GRANDER® Water System

Water, in its natural state, has valuable biological properties and is a source of vitality. However, it loses energy when transported through pipes to our homes. The GRANDER® Water Revitalization units restore water to its original structure, bringing numerous positive effects for humans and all living things.

This system creates a natural energy field that can counteract the negative effects of unhealthy electromagnetic fields. GRANDER® enhances water by rebuilding its optimal inner qualities, improving its structure and energetic quality.

Unlike typical filters that remove contaminants, GRANDER® products enhance water quality by restoring its internal structure and boosting its energetic properties. This treatment results in water that is more beneficial to living systems, with improved stability and self-cleaning abilities. It also reduces the need for detergents and chemicals to maintain water quality.

Importantly, the GRANDER® system reverses traces of negative information left by pollutants, renewing the water’s internal energetic qualities.

Lifestyle Habits to Prevent Alzheimer’s and Accelerated Aging

Stop Eating Sugar, Carbs, and Processed Foods

Cutting out sugar, carbs, processed vegetable oils, and processed foods can greatly reduce gut inflammation, improve nutrient absorption, and stabilize blood sugar levels. These inflammatory foods often lead to insulin resistance and leaky gut, which are major factors in anxiety, depression, and cognitive decline.

Focus on Eating Wild Animal Protein

Prioritize wild animal proteins like bison, lamb, deer, elk, wild fish, and organic eggs for essential nutrients that support healthy neurotransmitter and hormone production, as well as metabolism. Avoid poultry and conventional beef due to their inflammatory fats and amyloid proteins, which can harm the gut and brain, potentially contributing to Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Sleep 7-8 Hours Every Night

Getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night is crucial for body and brain recovery, reducing inflammation, and facilitating essential maintenance processes.

Exercise

Exercise is a powerful mood enhancer, boosting endorphins and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) to alleviate depression and enhance creativity. Aim for two sessions of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) weekly, along with endurance and weight training for overall health benefits.
