As the mother of three students, two in college and one a senior, studying is a hot topic of conversation around our dining table! So how to study smarter is a subject I’m very familiar with, one close to my heart.

With the constant barrage of notifications from phones and the pressure to multitask, it’s no wonder that maintaining attention in class or while doing homework has become so challenging. There was limited technology when I was at school and I was still able to be distracted! I don’t envy today’s students.

Concentration problems lead to lower grades, increased stress levels, and a general feeling of being overwhelmed. It’s important to address these issues and help students improve their focus to succeed academically.

Causes of Declined Concentration

The decline in concentration and increase in mental health issues such as anxiety and depression can be traced to several key factors:

Elevated Chronic Stress

Today’s world is more stressful than ever, with financial worries, political instability, and global anxieties piling on the pressure. This constant stress leads to mood disorders, brain fog, and can contribute to exacerbated ADHD symptoms.
